// Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Jignect Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", or "Jignect") collects, uses, and protects information from visitors to our website and clients engaged with our quality engineering services. It applies to personal data processed through jignect.tech and any associated subdomains.
We've written this document in plain English first and lawyerese second. If anything below is unclear, we'd rather you email us at [email protected] than guess.
// What We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Contact information submitted through our inquiry or contact forms (name, email, phone, company, role)
- Project briefs, requirements, attachments, and any supporting material you share during discovery or an engagement
- Billing details, provided by active clients to our accounts team
- Application, resume, and related information if you apply for a role with us
Information we collect automatically:
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser/user agent, referring URL, and timestamps
- Cookie and analytics data as described in the Cookies & Analytics section below
We do not collect or store payment card numbers on our own systems. Any billing is handled through PCI-compliant third-party processors.
Client and test data
In the course of delivering testing services, we may access a client's application environments, test data, or systems. This data is handled strictly under the terms of our engagement and any signed NDA or Data Processing Agreement, used only to perform the contracted work, and never for any other purpose.
// How We Use It
We use personal data to deliver the services you've engaged us for, respond to inquiries, process applications, send the occasional newsletter if you've opted in, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and improve our website. We do not sell personal data, period.
// Legal Basis for Processing
Depending on the interaction, we process personal data on one of these bases: performance of a contract, to deliver the services you've engaged us for; your consent, for example when you opt into our newsletter; our legitimate interests, such as responding to inquiries, securing our website, and improving our services; and compliance with a legal obligation, such as accounting and tax record-keeping. Where we rely on legitimate interest, we only do so when it doesn't override your own rights and freedoms.
// Sharing & Processors
We share limited data with a small set of vetted processors, each bound by a data processing agreement:
- Email delivery (transactional and newsletter)
- Analytics (privacy-respecting, IP-anonymized)
- CRM and project management for our client services team
- Accounting and payment processing
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights. We do not share client project or test data with anyone outside the engagement without the client's authorisation.
// International Data Transfers
Jignect is headquartered in Ahmedabad, India, and maintains a US correspondence address for business purposes. If you're located in the EU, UK, US, or another jurisdiction with data transfer restrictions, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in India or other countries where our processors operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard recognized under applicable law to protect data moved across borders.
// Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected], we aim to respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you feel we haven't addressed your concern adequately.
California residents
Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. Jignect does not sell personal information, so no additional opt-out step is required. You may still submit any of these requests to [email protected].
// Cookies & Analytics
We use a minimal set of first-party cookies to remember your preferences, and a privacy-respecting analytics platform to understand aggregate site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser without losing access to any part of our site. We do not use cookies or analytics data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
// Retention
Inquiry submissions are kept for 24 months. Engagement and financial records are kept for the period required by applicable law and professional record-keeping norms (typically up to 7 years following the close of an engagement). Recruitment data is kept for up to 12 months unless you ask us to remove it sooner.
// Security
We follow industry-standard practices for encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and incident response. As a quality engineering company, security and data protection are core to how we operate. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and are happy to discuss our practices with enterprise clients under NDA.
// Children's Privacy
Our website and services are intended for business audiences and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact [email protected] and we'll remove it.
// Changes
We'll note any material change to this policy in a banner on the site for at least 30 days. Minor clarifications will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
